I’m a big fan of “Alice in Wonderland!” One of my favorite parts of the story is when Alice falls down the rabbit hole and she ends up in this magical place that’s filled with curiosities and very interesting characters!
Well, I want to introduce you to such a place, “Ricochet Oldies and Antiques,” located in Brownwood Texas is much of its own wonderland!
As you approach this delightfully quirky shop, at first glance, mannequin legs extending from an old vintage trunk catches your eyes! The interesting and unique wonders continue as you explore both the outside and inside spaces of this shop! Rarely have I visited Ricochet that I’ve left empty handed! It’s positively a treasure trove filled with a variety of goodies!
I use the word positively intentionally because that’s the other wonder of this shop! Leslie, the owner, who greets you upon entering is such a genuinely lovely person that she makes each visit an uplifting and joyful experience!
The shops various vendors, who each equally offer an interesting collection of items, have prices that are consistently reasonable throughout the store!
So make your way over and meet Leslie in this place of rescued wonders and be sure to also meet the resident cat, who’s not quite as impossible to find as the Cheshire!
Leslie learned that I’m a collector of Alice in Wonderland and she searched for days to find this buried treasure! A 1947 Life magazine with the feature story being of my particular interest! Leslie gave this to me as a gift!
My Ricochet finds today!
A cast iron side piece that once belonged to an old school desk. I’m not sure just yet how I will use this beautiful piece, so if you have any ideas let me know. For now, I’m thinking it will be artwork that stirs conversation! I paid $20.00.
The vintage mailbox (I love the aged colors) will hang in the kitchen at Wildflower Manor. The hooks will likely hold things such as a tea towel, pot holder, or maybe even keys. Inside the box, I’ll store scissors, can opener, etc. I paid $10.00
Momma with her firstborn (me 😃). This is her favorite picture of us. Meet Butterfly…

Hi Sue! I so appreciate your enthusiastic and engaging responses to my blogs! I can tell that you're really enjoying it and that truly blesses me! I need to research the mailbox and see if I can find any info, such as it's age but I know over in your part of the world mailboxes like this one aren't used. In fact, when I lived there once upon a time, silly as it may sound, mailboxes were one of the things I really missed about the USA. Keep reading! Much love Kimberley
That will be a fun place to go when I finally get to visit you! I love that mailbox and can’t wait to see a picture of where it sits in your kitchen.
