Hi Jeannie! Thank you for your excellent comments! You would definitely love Bargain Barn! It's such a great shop with lots of fantastic deals! Also, I feel super blessed to have your support on here as a reader and as a good friend.
Lots of love, Kimberley
(PS:I'm living the dream, by using my writing and photography in combination with my love for thrifting! Thanks Mrs English teacher!😃)
I love this and the picture of your purchases, with the rest of the Ad photos! We have so much catching up to do, if I'm still able, by the time I get home, 70th around the corner and here I sit in bed, ready for my nap for the lack of nothing better to do. I will have a busy day on the 24th this month, the Memorial for my Momma's baby sister. They are all together again in heaven with their Momma, Daddy, Step Momma and Jesus.
God bless you and God bless America, in Jesus Name I pray. Amen
PS
Always love your blogs and the excitement you give to us, just reading about new places and adventures. Not to mention the savings, which we need badly in our world today. We need bargains.
I love you and am so proud of you.
Always, Momma
Amen momma. I'm praying for you.
I love you, Kimberley
As someone who doesn’t live in Texas, I would love you to wend some of the seasonal, wild life, locations, food, culture of where all these stores are. I’m probably one of the only non Texan’s but it would be lovely to hear some background, especially in the wimsical way I know you can write. Just a thought 😉
Ps thanks for the pictures, received them safely yesterday xxx
Hi Heather, thank you so much for continuing to read and for your excellent suggestion.
In answer, I try to keep my articles focused on the shops that I'm writing about to specifically honor them as businesses but also because I've been given the advice to keep posts readable for busy people (i.e.less is more). As a writer, I have to admit I often find this constraint very difficult because I would love to say more!
Also, quite a few of the shops that I write about are located in either the same small town or in the nearby vicinity. Some of these shops are located in such small towns that the population and activities in the area are limited and the store featured is actually the hub of the community. For example, one of the shops that I've written about is in a town of only 765 people, another one in a town of about 1,000.
However, (thank you for asking) I'd love to share more with you about the location of Bargain Barn, it is in a gorgeous town called San Saba, with a population of about 3,000 people. (We drive close to an hour to get there from where we live.) As in many small Texas communities, Main Street is the busiest part of town, sprinkled with various shops of interest (just to mention a few- an olive oil shop, a nice coffee shop and a really cool Western store) and centrally a beautiful courthouse.
Just to give you a better idea about the size of the community. There's one grocery store in town, Lowe's Market, it's a sweet shop where you can buy not only your groceries but also your hardware needs. The community has a medical clinic but the nearest hospital is a little over 30 miles away. The local public school has a total of about 700 students. (All very different from what you'd be familiar with in London.)
There's a gorgeous park in the town, Mill Pond Park, it has a water wheel, that was actually built by the same gentleman (now retired) who owns Bargain Barn. Our favorite thing to do in San Saba is have a stroll in this peaceful park. We especially love to visit it at Christmas because they present a gorgeous display of Christmas lights!
We love to eat at Napoli's Italian Grill when we visit San Saba, they have amazing food! My favorite is their pizza, Graham loves the spaghetti! They are closed on the weekend, so in order to hit both places, Bargain Barn (open Fri & Sat), we visit on a Friday so that we can catch the restaurant and the shop open.
We love San Saba and there's one other antique shop there that I hope to write about in the near future, so please keep reading to learn more!
Love ❤️ Kimberley
This looks like such a fun place to shop from the pictures! I love how open it is!
Hi Kristin! Thank you so much for reading and leaving a comment! Bargain Barn is a great place to shop and an excellent way to buy necessities (clothes, furniture) and save on living expenses. So much love ❤️
That's absolutely brilliant Kimberley! What a fantastic place to spend a day out at!
Your chair looks so comfy and the painting is gorgeous!
Thank you Sally for your comment and for continuing to read my blog posts! I actually got two of those chairs on the day and then found another at an estate sale shortly afterwards, so I now have 3! Hopefully, I'll find another one at some point and have a set! Much love to you, Kimberley ❤️
