Hmmm where to begin…
So excited to be sharing here with my fellow thrifty friends on this very first blog! It may sound silly but this is the beginning of a dream come true for me! In sharing not only my passion for thrift and design but to also be writing about my escapades for others to enjoy reading!
As it’s nearly Valentine’s Day, I want to start by thanking my husband Graham for spending hours expressing his love for me in helping to design and set up this blog page! And while I’m thanking him, I should also acknowledge all of his wonderful support in my great bargain hunting adventures!
Though often he doesn’t understand why I’m buying something broken, rusty or covered in chippy paint, still he’ll endearingly help me to negotiate for the very best deal and then load up my dusty finds into our trusty 22 year old truck (which by the way, I found on Craigslist)!
One of my friends once said how romantic it was that my husband would wait outside as I ran into a shop to rummage around. I’d never thought of it as romantic before. I’d always thought of romance as a bouquet of roses or a fancy restaurant but I suddenly realized my friend was right. I had a real sweetheart sitting out in our truck dripping with the Texas heat, reading his Bible or listening to a podcast while patiently waiting for me to exit with a bag full of treasures.
I’m truly blessed to have such a wonderful man in my heart and life. Happy Valentine’s Day honey, you’re my greatest find of all!
